The Backpack: Osprey Farpoint 40L
Recently bought to replace my old NorthFace Box Shot 35L from Madam Sia (Pertama Complex) for a princely sum of RM 380. More spacious than my previous backpack, its carry-on compliant and top-loading design opened up a whole new world for me when it comes to ultralight backpacking.
The Daypacks
- Lowepro Passport Sling: My main daypack and I use it mainly to carry my camera equipment around. If need be, all I need to do is just pull a zipper to get more storage space. When not in use, I simply collapse the bag and store it in my backpack
- Hypergear Dry Pack 10L: My alternative daypack, which I whip out from time to time, especially when I know I'm going to get wet. Collapsed into a neat roll when not in use
Backpack Management
To keep everything organized, I bought packing organizers and ziploc bags from Daiso for only RM5 each (relatively inexpensive and works great). Below is an example of what I'd normally carry for a 1-2 week's trip.
Clothes (separated by packing organizer)
- Shirts: 5 x shirts
- Pants: 2 x trousers, 2 x short pants
- Underwear: 5 x shorts
- Thermals: 1 x jacket, 1 x gloves
- Misc: 1 x bath towel, 1 x swimwear
Toiletries (all travel-sized and stored in a ziploc bag)
- 1 x shower gel, 1 x shampoo
- 1 x toothbrush, 1 x toothpaste, 1 x dental floss
- 1 x hairgel, 1 x comb, 1 x razor
- 1 x deodorant
- 1 x sunblock (for sunny days)
Accessories (stored in a ziploc bag)
- 1 x travel flashlight (Fenix E12, bought from a store for RM70)
- 1 x travel adapter, 2 x USB cables
- 1 x travel pillow, 1 x sleep mask, 1 x earphones (for those long bus/train rides)
Photography Equipment (stored inside daypack)
- Sony a6000, with the following lenses: SEL18105G, SEL35F18
- SJCAM SJ4000 action camera with monopod (for selfies), underwater case & bobber (for underwater use) & chest strap (for POV shots)
- Manfrotto PIXI tripod (for long exposures)
- Extra batteries, SD card, battery charger, camera cleaning kit
Hi Agung,
ReplyDeleteYeah, still using a6000, but with different lens now. Using sigma 16mm f1.4 😊
